To get the most satisfaction out of your living environment, your outdoor space should be just as functional and aesthetically pleasing as the indoors. A backyard that looks good and can be used year-round will not only make your home much more enjoyable, but it will also increase your property value. If your backyard is lacking in appeal, there are several steps you can take to transform it into the oasis you desire. Our home remodeling experts at Baybrook Remodelers offer quality craftsmanship that has helped numerous residents in and around West Haven, CT, turn their visions into reality. Below, we go over a few ways you can revamp your outdoor space.

4 Ways to Give Your Backyard a Makeover

1. Install a Water Feature

Installing a water feature can instantly convert your backyard into a peaceful retreat. The sound of flowing water has a calming effect that can help to relieve stress. It’s also a great way to add a touch of elegance to your outdoor space and cool it down on hot days. There is a wide range of water features available to fit every budget.

2. Build a Patio

Building a patio continues to be one of the most popular home remodeling projects. They can be used as an extension of indoor living space, allowing many activities to move outdoors. By adding some comfortable furniture, you can make your patio a favorite spot to socialize, dine, read a book, or just take in the pleasant weather and fresh air.

3. Add a Fire Pit

Constructing a fire pit will give your family and friends somewhere to spend quality time together while swapping stories and roasting marshmallows. You can achieve the same feel of a campout right in your own backyard with minimal effort. Fire pits also provide warmth during the colder months and will give you the opportunity to try out a new kind of cooking experience.

4. Add an Outdoor Kitchen or Bar

For the past eight years, I've been making pizza for family and friends and the entire neighborhood under a cloth canopy on a five foot long stainless steel table. The process was difficult at best. I had no running water, no refrigeration, no sink, no ice maker.

With that, we decided to build a Tiki Bar outfitted with an outdoor kitchen. We decided to use the same beautiful materials that you would expect to see indoors. We built custom mahogany cabinets with nickel hardware to make the outdoor kitchen space feel just like our indoor kitchen. With a large counter space we're able to crank out pizza after pizza for our famous neighborhood pizza nights. A double wide commercial grade under-counter refrigerator holds all of the perishables needed for our parties.

Adding an outdoor kitchen or bar may be what you need for entertaining family and friends. They provide a level of convenience and comfort that just can't be beat.

Using these ideas, you can easily turn your backyard into the perfect place to relax or entertain guests. If you need help coming up with design inspiration, our home remodeling professionals at Baybrook Remodelers can provide you with a variety of solutions to reach your goals.
